[ ABOUT THE EVENT ]
What is Query Quest?
-
Query Quest is a database-centric competitive event designed to test participants' knowledge of databases, SQL queries, data retrieval, and logical problem-solving skills.
-
The event focuses on real-world data handling scenarios where participants must analyze datasets, write optimized queries, and solve practical database challenges.
-
Conducted in three progressive rounds — from conceptual MCQs to database design to live query solving — the event rewards both theoretical depth and practical skill.
[ COMPETITION FORMAT ]
Query Quest Format — 3 Rounds
MCQ Format
Elimination Round
Tests your foundational knowledge of database concepts, normalization, keys, relationships, and SQL theory through multiple-choice questions. Speed and accuracy determine who advances.
Schema Design
Participants are given a real-world scenario and must design a complete database schema — including tables, relationships, constraints, and normalization — demonstrating structural thinking and data modelling ability.
Live Queries
Final Round
The most intense round — participants write live SQL queries against provided datasets to solve analytical challenges. Evaluated on correctness, efficiency, and presentation of results.
